My First Target Mailbox

Happy Friday!

This Target mailbox is for my niece Samantha for Valentine's Day. The mailbox is white and I used Red 1/4" grosgrain ribbon to trim the front and back. Samantha's room is done in an animal print that looks just like this patterned paper (from M's). By the way, the paper is awesome--the black is flocked! I used the SU Heart embosslit die and large heart punch. I also used the MS scalloped heart punch (on the flag) and EK Success small heart punch (three on front of mailbox). The sentiment is from GinaK's Tech Talk stamp set.

So, what's inside the mailbox?

I made matching chocolate holders! There is a mini mailbox with two Hershey Nuggets. I have seen these on a few different blogs. The measurements are:

1 x 3 1/2 card stock (bottom of mailbox - round all four corners)
1 1/4 x 4 card stock
1 x 4 patterned paper

I used removable glue dots to hold the Nuggets in place. The flag is attached with a brad so it does move up and down.

The second item is a box with the Heart Sweet Treat Cup (Nestle Crunch heart inside it).

I designed the box to accomodate a Russell Stover Caramel Heart. The measurements are:

3 14/16 x 9
score at 10/16 all around
score at 3 9/16 from both long ends
snip small score lines and use red line tape to assemble box

I know the measurements are odd, but the candy fits perfectly in the box and the box fits in the mailbox.

I made a flap on the inside to access the Nestle Crunch heart.

It flips open and is held shut with a piece of velcro. The XOXO is from the retired SU Pictograms set.
Next time I'll post Amanda's mailbox. Until then, happy crafting!

Sweet Treat Valentine Card

Happy Monday!
This is the Valentine card I made for Wolfgang. I guess you would call it a glitter globe card. The heart is a SU Sweet Treat cup. They are so adorable. I filled it with water and glitter and attached it to a piece of medium weight window sheet. Of course the picture is of Wolfgang & me. The little scallop border around the heard is from the new SU Scalloped Hearts of Heart embosslit die.
The card base is SU Pretty in Pink. I used Very Vanilla for the top half of the card and stamped the XOXO (from the retired SU Pictograms set) in Pretty in Pink. The bottom half of the card is a piece of the new Sending Love DSP. That DSP is so pretty I didn't even want to cut into it and use it! I love the sparkle in it. Isn't that scallop border pretty? It's the SAB border punch. I used the new Pretty in Pink satin ribbon and layered it with the 1/4" Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon.
Now for the inside of the card. The hearts were made with the new Heart embosslit and the heart punch. The 'With Love' is from last year's SAB Yummy set. The Valentine sentiment is from the SU Hostess Level 1 Holiday Best set. I also added a strip of Very Vanilla punched with the new SAB border punch.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #42

Happy Saturday!
How fun are the cupcakes that Rachel posted this week?!?!? The little yellow flowers jumped out at me and I was inspired to 'case' my own card for this week's challenge!
I started with a pink card base and layered with SU Barely Banana. The little flip flops were stamped in SU Regal Rose. The little flowers were stamped in Regal Rose as well as Colorbox Yellow Citrus. The flowers on the flip flops are a combination of fabric flowers from M's, card stock flowers punched with a retired SU punch, and flower brads. I adhered the pair of flip flops with pop dots. The 'Fun in the Sun' ribbon has been in my stash for ages.
So, if these fun cupcakes inspire you to get creative today, you have until 9:00 PM MT tonight to link your card for this week's challenge.
Happy crafting!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #41

Happy Saturday!
I made a 'Thank You' card for this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge. The card base is pink layered with SU Certainly Celery and So Saffron. I used the Scallop Border punch along the bottom and the Finial Impressions folder on the top half. The sentiment (SU Heard from the Heart set) is stamped in Pretty in Pink on Very Vanilla and I inked the edges. The ribbon is also Pretty in Pink. The crown was stamped and embossed in Gold on Very Vanilla. I added some stick-on blink because what's a crown without jewels, right?!?!?
Click on over to Rachel's blog to read all about this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge. You have until 9:00 PM MT tonight to link your yummy creation.
Happy crafting!

Chipboard Album for Amanda

Happy Wednesday!

I am happy to report that it is slowly warming up in FL! Today I'm sharing with you the chipboard album I made for my niece, Amanda, to commemorate her prom and graduation. I used the professional school photo for the cover. The black graduation paper is from M's, as is the $1.00 chipboard album! The tassle is from ACM.

Amanda and her date. The silver paper on these two pages and the next two pages is also from M's.

My mother, Amanda, my brother Richard, and myself on the left page. I don't know if you can see it, but in the red hearts I stamped, daddy's little girl.

For the left page I watermarked an actual graduation photo and used it to cover the chipboard. The paper on the right page is from the SU retired Delicate Dots DSP.

That's my brother Kevin with Amanda on the left page. The two stamped images on the right page are from the SU retired Event Full set. The blue graduation paper is from ACM (it was left over from the graduation party invitations).
Amanda loved the album. In fact, she was more excited over this little album than the 12x12 album I made her last year. That album covered her birth through her sweet sixteen party.
That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Miscellany

Happy Monday,

Well, it is still cold in sunny Florida, so I thought I would make one last Christmas posting.
The above picture is how I packaged my nieces' Christmas presents. In each basket, there is a wrapped gift, the ornament money holder that I posted here, decorated candy bars, and some miscellaneous chocolates.

The below two pictures show the front and back of a few gift tags. I used Old Olive and Real Red. The Merry embosslit die was one of the items in the blog candy package I received from Carolina. I embossed the white snowflakes and attached the punched trees with glue dots. The larger tag was cut from a Sizzix die and I used the SU Petals a Plenty embossing folder. It sure created a beautiful embossed image. The poinsettia was created with the SU 5-Petal Flower punch.

And lastly, I made a few of these Santa wrapped chocolate bars. The 'fur' was created with the SU Scallop Edge punch and the 'buttons' with the 1/4 Circle punch. I used shiny black card stock for the belt. The 'buckle' was also created with a punch (EK Success?) from shiny gold card stock. The Ho Ho sentiment is from the retired SU Pictograms set and was punched with the Scallop Oval.

Thanks for dropping by today.

Christmas Card for Raissa

Happy Saturday,
Since it is soooo cold in Florida, I thought it still appropriate to make Christmas postings! As I shared with you here the card that my friend and SU demo Raissa sent me for Christmas, I would now like to share with you what I sent to Raissa.
The card base is Real Red and the DSP is from the retired Dashing pack. I used the Delightful Decorations stamp set and coordinating punch to make two ornaments--one in Real Red and one in Old Olive. I don't know what you call this technique, but the ornament spins in the opening. It was the first time I tried this and I really like it.
The holly on the inside of the card was made with a MS leaf punch and SU 1/4 circle punch. The sentiment is a $1.00 stamp.

I also made Raissa a matching coaster post-it holder. The stamped image on the inside is from the retired Punches Three set. The post-it pad matched so well with the colors.

As lastly, this is the gift bag.
You can visit Raissa's blog here. If you are looking for a SU demo, she's your girl!
Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time, happy crafting!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #40

Happy Wednesday!
Rachel came up with some really pretty cupcakes this week! She asked that we use our inspiration to make a birthday card this time.
I guess you can tell I was inspired by the pink and yellow colors, and the curlies. For my card I started with a pink base and ran a layer of SU So Saffron through the BigKick with a Sizzix Texture Plate. The flower (from 2009 SAB Botanical Blooms) is stamped in Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, and Certainly Celery. The sheer pink ribbon was in my stash and the pretty flower border is a MS punch. The DSP is also So Saffron (from 2009 SAB Delicate Dots). The sentiment is from SU Wow Flowers and the two little flowers are a Judith stick.
If you would like to participate in this week challenge, you have until Saturday at 9:00 PM MT to link your card to Mr. Linky. You will find all the details here.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like the card I'll be sending to my friend Lisa next month.

Tech Talk Birthday Card

Happy New Year!
I was lucky enough to win Melanie Muenchinger's latest stamp set, Tech Talk. It is a signed copy! So, once it arrived I immediately set out to 'case' the card that Melanie posted here.
The card I made is for my friend Lucy's birthday. The card base is Bazzill card stock and the DSP is SU Delicate Dots (2008 SAB). I printed the desk template on SU Whisper White card stock. The vase of flowers is a JRS stamp. I put some Crystal Effects on it for the water. I stamped an 'L' (for Lucy) on the mug. The computer is blocking it, but there is a tea bag string (Hero Arts stamp) sticking out of the mug. The 'birthday wishes' sentiment is from the SU Wow Flowers set. And, yes, those are real pictures of Lucy and her family in the frames. I printed the pictures 3/4" x 1/2".
There is a Blog Hop right now in celebration of the 25 stamp sets that Melanie has illustrated for GinaK Designs during the past two years. You can get details and begin the hop here.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you liked my version of this card.
