Brayer Class With Michelle Zindorf

Happy Saturday!

Sorry to have been MIA all week, but I have had a miserable cold and was not up to posting.

Last Saturday I attended Michelle Zindorf's Beginner Brayer Class in Jacksonville. What a wonderful class. Michelle limits each class to 10 so she can give us lots of attention and assistance. I had never even held a brayer in my hand before and look at the three amazing cards I made:

If you have the opportunity to attend one of Michelle's classes, I highly recommend it. You can find the schedule on her blog. Her classes fill up quickly. I signed up in September and we got the last three seats that were available. She taught three beginner classes and one advanced class last weekend.
Michelle even signed our brayers:

February Tech Talk

Happy Friday!
These are the Tech Talk cards I made for two friends that had birthdays in February.
The pink and purple patterned papers are Bazzill, as is the pink card stock. The green card stock is SU Green Galore.
Thanks for stopping by. I wish you a very crafty weekend!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #46 & JRS Monogram Challenge

Happy Thursday!
I made this card for two different challenges this week--Rachel's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and JRS's Monogram Challenge.
The stamped border and inital are from the JRS Curlz Monogram Kit. The border is stamped with SU Pink Passion and the initial with Versafine Vintage Sepia. I used the SU Backgrounds 1 texture plate on part of the card and the satin ribbon is SU Chocolate Chip. The punched butterflies were sprayed with SU Champagne Mist and attached with pop dots.
You have until this evening to enter the JRS Challenge and until Saturday @ 9:00 PM MT to link your card to this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge.
Happy crafting!

Happy (Sunny) Wednesday!

Thank you for your comments on my card candy posting.

I wrote the four names on little squares of paper, mixed them up in a bag, and had Wolfgang pull one out. And, the winner is:

David F. Brumley (Rachel)

Congratulations! Please E-mail me your address and I'll get your little package in the mail.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!
It is a beautiful, sunny (albeit cold) day today. Later this afternoon we are going to a fundraiser dinner at the Elk's. It is called 'Open Your Heart For Haiti." One night next week we plan to go out for a belated Valentine's steak dinner. So, do you have any Valentine's Day plans?
Now, onto the details about this gorgeous easel calendar. This was a kit I win in a blog candy from Cristena. I received all the pre-cut pieces and printed instructions to assemble this beautiful Valentine project. That is a real pull-out draw! I put Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in it and gave it to my brother for Valentine's Day. He loved it!
I had never made an easel card before, but will definitely be making them in the future.
Thank you Cristena!

Card Candy

Happy (Rainy) Friday!
Yes, it's raining again. We did enjoy two sunny days in a row, but now it's time for rain again. That's OK though--what does one do on a rainy or snow day?!?!? Craft, of course!
This week Carolina's Anything But a Card Challenge at StampTV is to create card candy. As soon as I saw the challenge posted, I knew I wanted to make Crafting/Stamping Card Candy. I had fun with the challenge.
The first picture shows the card candy unpackaged (much clearer) and the second picture shows it packaged.
The first two and last two 'candies' were stamped with sentiments from the GinaK Tech Talk stamp set. The image on the middle two 'candies' is from a retired SU set. I used all SU card stock.
The image on the bag topper is also a retired SU stamp. I used the JustRite small alphabet set to stamp the 'Card Candy' circle.
In addition to the random drawing on StampTV for a GinaK stamp set of your choice, Carolina is offering blog candy on her blog for this challenge.
So, I thought I would offer a little candy as well. I will give away my card candy. Leave a comment on this post and next Wednesday I will have Wolfgang draw a name.
Thank for stopping by.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #45

Happy Thursday!
Well, Rachel (Hope Stamps Eternal) posted an amazing picture for this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge.
I took my inspiration from the little purple chips and used the SU Elegant Bouquet embossing folder on Whisper White card stock. I colored the raised flowers with chalks and used the new SU Pretty in Pink satin ribbon. The sentiment (a $1.00 stamp from M's) was stamped in Pretty in Pink.
If you would like to play along in this week's challenge, you have until Saturday, February 13 at 9:00 PM MT to link your card here.
Happy crafting!

Popcorn Valentine

Happy (Rainy) Tuesday!
Yes, it is raining again in sunny Florida! But, I am not complaining. I'll take rain any day over snow. Yesterday was a beautiful day here--sunny and pleasant.
I made this popcorn gift card holder for my mother for Valentine's Day. I got the idea and template here.
This is such a cute way to present a movie theater or movie rental gift card. I made one for my friend Anne for Christmas, but forgot to take a picture of it to post. It was exactly the same except for the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Birthday Teacup

Happy (Rainy) Friday!

This teacup card is for my mother's birthday and it is for Cathy's (Paper Garden Projects) Friday Fun Challenge.

The teacup template was a free download from Lindsay (The Frugal Crafter). I printed it on watercolor paper. The rose image is from the retired SU Dear Friend set. I embossed it in gold and watercolored the image using Old Olive, Real Red, and So Saffron. The little flowers are a Judith Stick. I ran a gold marker around the edges of the teacup.

Cathy's challenge required that the card have a ribbon. So...

I wrapped a Lipton teabag in pretty paper, tied a ribbon around it, and attached it inside the card with a removal glue dot. What good is a teacup without a teabag, right?!?!? The Happy Birthday sentiment is from GinaK's Tech Talk set and I layered it on Real Red punched with the SU scallop oval.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time, Happy Crafting!
