Flourishes' Christmas Card Sketch Challenge

Happy Friday!

I made a card earlier this month for the Flourishes' Christmas Card Sketch Challenge. I uploaded it to SCS on May 4, but am just now remembering to post it on my blog.

Here is the sketch:

And, here is my card:

I used the Christmas Tea stamp set from Flourishes. Being the big tea drinker that I am, I had to get this set as soon as it came out last year. Well, as things go, I just inked it up for this card.

You can find the challenge link here.

Enjoy the long weekend!

I'm a Bad Aunt

Happy Sunday!

Boy, I am such a bad aunt. My niece, Samantha, turned 15 last Sunday and I am just getting the chance to post her card (yes, I did give it to her on her birthday).

The first picture shows the front of her card and matching Nugget purse. I used SU Regal Rose for the card and Bazzill Blue for the purse. The little envelope on the front was designed to hold a bill folded in half. I used a removable glue dot to keep it closed. I forgot to take a picture of the matching wrapped Nuggets!

The second picture shows her 'room' card opened.

Thanks for stopping by.

Greenhouse Garden Shadowbox Card

Happy Saturday!

This week's 3D Challenge at PCP is a shadowbox card. I have never made one before, but I really like it and will be making more.

I finally used my Greenhouse Garden stamp set. This is the set I chose when I won Shelli's Creative Challenge last summer. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I just mounted it yesterday. Yes, I know, shame on me for letting this great stamp set sit so long without being inked up.

I used Bazzill card stock for the card base and scallop circles. I first stamped the flowers on the white card stock, then added additional handcut ones on top with pop dots. They were stamped with VersaMagic Pixie Pink amd Momento Rich Cocoa inks. The small flowers on the front of the card were also attached with pop dots. The Thank you is from a retired SU set and the patterned paper was in my scrap stash.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very crafty weekend.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable day. We went to dinner at Charlie Brown's. I wanted to post the picture of my mother, brothers, and I that we took at the restaurant, but I'm waiting for my brother to send it to me.

Here is what I made for my mother:

The strawberry border on the front of the card is a Spellbinders borders petite die (I won that and an apple one during a PCP blog hop). I used SU Old Olive and Real Red card stock. The flower pot was previously posted here.

I purchased the kitchen template at GinaK Designs. The DSP is from the retired SU Summer Picnic. The vase of flowers is a JustRite stamp. The loaf pan and oven mitts are retired SU stamps, and the Wonderful Mother sentiment is from the Well Scripted set. I got the loaf of Italian bread in a small scrapbooking shop in FL (there were six loaves and three bread bags in the embellishment pack). I added red brads for 'knobs' on the draws. I still want to add something on the 'wall' over the stove. Actually, I tried to find a sticker of a red-rimmed clock because my mother has such a clock on a wall in her kitchen. So, if anyone has seen such an embellishment, please let me know where I can get it.

Tea for Two

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Mine was hot and busy. Hot because the temperature in sunny Florida has been over 90 the past few days and busy because we have been working like crazy to close up the house for the summer. Yes, I'll be heading to my mother's house in NY on Wednesday!

The latest 3-D challenge at PCP is to create a matchbox sort of. The sort of part being that the cover should have a type of closure rather than the typical sliding wrapper. As I don't have the matchbox die, I made my own box to fit my project.

I used SU Regal Rose and Rose Red card stock. The tea pot is a Great Impressions stamp. I stamped it on Shimmery White with Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear powder. The flowers were colored with various SU & Marvy markers, then I went over them with a glitter gel pen. I used the SU Scallop Border Trim punch and the flap is kept closed by tucking it behind the popped up tea pot.

The tea for two image is from a Hero Arts clear set. Inside the box are two wrapped tea bags and two wrapped Hershey Nuggets. A cute little tea for two gift.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!
