Paris Birthday Card

Happy Saturday!

Our Craft Lounge has a sketch challenge this week and Simon Says Stamp and Show has a challenge called 'Take your pick...London, Paris, or NY.'

I chose Paris, flipped the sketch, and made a birthday card for Wolfgang. For those of you that don't know, Wolfgang lived for many years in Paris and Nice, and sometimes thinks he's French rather than German!

Supplies used: SU Chocolate Chip & Very Vanilla, and The Paper Co. Matte Marble CS, Creative Imaginations PP, Emboss It and Versafine Vintage Sepia Ink, Gold Embossing Powder, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accents Dies, Pearls, Simplicity Ribbon, OCL Out for a Spin (sentiment) & Vintage Traveler (images) , and SU Vintage Labels (HB sentiment) Stamp Sets, and misc. piece of chain.

The card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. Next I plan to make a matching envelope/box. I hope I don't misplace the card (like I did last year) before Wolfgang's birthday.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Birthday Cake

Happy Friday!

I was in NY last week for a few days. I flew up to surprise my mother for her birthday. Her birthday is the 15th, but, because of a lot of commitments, I wasn't able to get away this week. So, arriving on the 4th really made it a surprise. We had a nice family birthday dinner celebration at one of my mother's favorite restaurants. Actually, we all love the restaurant.

Anyway, today I am posting the birthday cake I made:

Looks yummy, doesn't it?!?!? I hand-carried it on the plane. The slices were filled with chocolates. Everyone loved their favors (or, perhaps it was really the chocolate they were so crazy about!).

Supplies used: Basic Black, Real Red, & GP White CS, Patterns Love DSP, Real Red ink, Sizzix Daisy die, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accent die, SU Petals-a-Plenty EF, Oval, Scalloped Oval, & Scalloped Circle punches, Vintage Labels stamp set, Recollections Pearl brads, and Piece o' Cake template by AR.

Here is a picture of my mother and me at dinner:

I plan to make a mini album with all the pictures from our family dinner.

Thanks for stopping by. I wish you a very crafty weekend.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Tuesday & Happy Valentine's Day!

Today I am posting the gift I made for Wolfgang for Valentine's Day:

I used the back side of an artist's canvas and covered the bare wood with Distress Paint. One sheet of the Paris DSP was slid inside the frame. I distressed and hand-cut (around the pretty flowers and bird) the second sheet, then glued it to the frame. The black on this paper (from J's) is flocked. I wanted to create a postcard-like picture so I sized pictures from our trip and typed the text in Word.

Other supplies used: Basic Black & Pink Pirouette CS, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accents, Trinkets (the lock has the fleur de lis on it--thanks Diana!), OCL The Journey & SU Bliss stamps, Vanilla Rosettes (dyed pink), and pearls.

This week's OCL challenge theme is vintage love, so I'll be linking this project to the OCL challenge.

I4U Project #15 - Picture Slider Card

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful, crafty weekend. My friend, Jean (naturecoastcrafter), and I spent Saturday at Stampfest in Clearwater. There were 28 vendors from the U.S. and Canada. Oh my, the samples at the booths were amazing. It was a fun day of browsing and shopping in stamp and die cutting heaven.

Today I have my version of Project #15 from I4U Paper Celebration. The tutorial was created by Madeline.

Supplies used: Real Red CS, Holly Berry DSP, Alpine and Very Vanilla Ribbon, 5-Petal Flower, Modern Label, and Word Window Punches, and Gold Glimmer Brad.

Thanks for stopping by.

I4U Bonus Project - 'Tea'rific

Happy Friday!

One of the bonus tutorials in the current I4U Paper Celebration session is a cute tea for two holder.

A belly band holds it closed:

I added pictures to personalize it for Mother's Day:

I also added an extra pocket (left side of photo) so a gift card could be included:

Supplies used: Riding Hood Red CS & ink, Bella Rose DSP, Well Scripted stamp set, and Oval & Scalloped Oval Nesties.

Thanks for stopping by.

I4U - Cute Valentine Critters

Happy Saturday!

The I4U Paper Celebration Edition is in full swing. Today I have two versions of Project #2 to share with you. The tutorial for this project was created by Kim Score.

Aren't these little critters just the cutest?!?!? What makes them really special is that their mouths open!

I used Wild Wasabi for the crocodile and Almost Amethyst along with Pink Pirouette for the mouse.

Thanks for stopping by. I wish you a very crafty weekend.
